Potentially negligent driver may have caused crash in Illinois

Riding a motorcycle can be dangerous because other drivers may not be used to looking out for motorcycles on the road. Many times, drivers will not see a motorcyclist on the road, which could cause a vehicle collision. This may have been what happened when one potentially negligent driver caused a motorcycle collision in Illinois recently.

The 40-year-old woman driver had been backing out from a driveway when the incident occurred in early September. However, the woman did not see a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle heading down the road at the same time. The woman's 2003 Jeep Wrangler backed into the way of the motorcyclist's path. Although the 26-year-old motorcyclist tried to maneuver around the Jeep, he was unable to do so.

The motorcyclist crashed into the Jeep, which resulted in the motorcyclist being injured. He was then transported to a local medical facility in order to receive treatment for his injuries. The driver of the Jeep avoided sustaining any injuries. The police cited the driver of the Jeep for failing to yield on a private road.

The extent of the injuries sustained by the motorcyclist has yet to be released to the public. However, he will more than likely incur significant hospital bills for the medical treatment he receives in the hospital in Illinois. He may want to consider filing a personal injury lawsuit against the potentially negligent driver. If he prevails in the personal injury lawsuit, he may be able to receive monetary reimbursement that could help pay for medical bills.
