Weather may have contributed to car accident in Illinois

There are some things in life a person cannot control. One of these things is the weather. Adverse weather conditions, such as snow, ice or heavy rain, can be particularly problematic while on the road. It seems that extreme weather may have contributed to causing a recent car accident in Illinois.

The incident occurred one morning in mid-February amid extreme weather conditions. There were strong winds and snow at the time of the incident, which occurred at approximately 11 a.m. The multiple-vehicle collision involved one commercial vehicle, as well as two other vehicles. Authorities reported multiple injuries, but all of the injuries were considered minor.

This incident was not the only collision that may have been caused by the same snow storm. Several other crashes apparently occurred around the same time on the same highway. Authorities closed down all eastbound lanes on the highway to allow investigators to examine the scene. Other factors that may have contributed to the accidents have yet to be determined by the authorities who are still investigating the recent vehicle collisions.

Regardless of weather conditions, if actions of a driver contribute to causing a car accident in Illinois, it could mean that the driver could be legally liable for any injuries caused in the crash. Therefore, those who are injured in car crashes may benefit from what authorities discover during their investigations. Evidence revealed may potentially be used in future personal injury lawsuits. Ultimately, a judge will determine if a plaintiff is legally owed damages from a defendant.
