Woman dies in tragic auto accident in Illinois

A vehicle does not necessarily have to be moving for the driver of the vehicle to be injured or even killed in a crash. Some people are injured or killed while their vehicle is parked. This is exactly what happened in a recent fatal auto accident in Illinois.

The crash occurred one morning in early February and resulted in the death of a 26-year-old woman who had parked her car along side the highway. The incident happened at approximately 7 a.m. when another woman driver was heading westbound on the Illinois 121. The other motorist was driving an SUV at the time, according to reports released to the public.

For some reason, the driver of the SUV crossed over the white fog line on the road. Her vehicle ended up hitting the other vehicle parked on the side of the road. Apparently, the stopped vehicle had mechanical issues. That driver died as a result of the crash, while the driver of the SUV suffered injury but refused treatment from medical staff.

Although it is true that nothing can bring back the lost life, the family of the decedent may be able to do something to alleviate some of the financial challenges that have arisen as a result of the tragic auto accident. They have the right to seek monetary reimbursement for the loss by pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit in an Illinois civil court. A successful litigation may help to pay for some of the funeral costs and unpaid medical bills stemming from the crash, along with other monetary damages recognized by our laws.
