Child dead after Illinois car accident

When someone gets behind the wheel of a vehicle, he or she must have patience and stay attentive while driving. If an individual loses focus while driving, a car accident could be the result. A recent car accident in Illinois has left one dead and others injured.

The tragic accident took place on a Tuesday evening. A white van and a semi-truck were involved in the traffic accident. The incident took place on Route 53 when the van was attempting to make a left turn onto the road. There were four passengers in the van who were injured by the collision.

The van was driven by a 36-year-old female who was transported to a local hospital for treatment after the crash. There is no information regarding the driver's blood alcohol content. A 15-year-old female, 20-year-old female and a 20-year old male all suffered serious injuries and were transferred to medical facilities for treatment. The 8-year-old child, who was a passenger in the van, died as a result of the traffic accident.

It was not apparent if the 47-year-old driver of the semi-trailer was injured by the crash. At this time, there have been no citations or charges issued concerning this accident. The Illinois authorities are continuing to investigate the matter.

When the Illinois investigators reveal which party was at fault in this car accident, the victims and their family members will have to decide how to handle this tragic case. The family of the deceased child may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim, which could help alleviate some of the financial stress resulting from funeral and burial costs. The injured victims could be entitled to monetary damages for pain and suffering. If an individual is hurt by a vehicle accident that was caused by another party's negligent actions, then the victim can file a personal injury claim in an Illinois civil court. If the claim is found successful, any awarded restitution can help compensate for medical expenses, rehabilitation costs and lost wages due to missing time from work..
