During nice weather, many individuals enjoy long road trips and driving around town to meet some friends. Automobiles have provided a convenience to get from one place to another in a matter of minutes. However, it only takes a minute to make a wrong choice while driving on the road, and as a result, a car accident could quickly occur.
A tragic vehicle accident recently took place in Illinois. Two cars were involved in this crash. The incident occurred on Interstate 74. A 32-year-old female was driving a car that hit another car from the back as both vehicles were apparently traveling east at the time.
The driver of the other vehicle, an 85-year-old male, was rushed to the hospital but died due to injuries suffered in the wreck. Reports did not mention any other passengers in the two automobiles during the crash. The female driver involved was transferred to a medical facility for treatment.
At this time, the female driver has been accused of driving under the influence. She was also cited by law enforcement for failing to reduce speed. The Illinois authorities are continuing to investigate the matter.
This tragic event could create a difficult time for the victim’s love ones. After the investigation of this car accident is complete, the deceased victim’s family may wish to file a wrongful death claim in an Illinois civil court. Any compensation awarded from a successful claim could help ease the family’s pain and suffering and could be applied to any burial and funeral costs.
