Illinois high school student killed in car accident

No parent wants to learn that their child has been killed in a car accident. Such news can be beyond devastating, and parents may feel lost as to how they are supposed to continue on without their child. The understandable emotional upheavals that could stem from a fatal car accident may only be made more difficult by the potential financial issues that could result. Therefore, parents of an accident victim may wish to look into their legal options for compensation.

A recent accident in Illinois unfortunately resulted in the death of a young teen. It was reported that the male high school student was a passenger in a vehicle traveling west. While the vehicle was traveling it was struck by a pickup truck that was moving southbound. Specific details of the accident were not available at the time of the report.

It was noted that the passenger was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. However, he suffered serious head trauma and succumbed to those injuries. It was not reported whether any of the other individuals involved were injured in the accident. At this time, authorities are working to reconstruct the incident as they continue their investigation.

The parents of the high school freshman are likely devastated by the sudden loss of their child. Coming to terms with such an event can take considerable time and require overcoming numerous emotional hurdles. In addition to the emotional trauma of the Illinois car accident, the parents may also face financial burdens due to funeral costs and other resulting expenses. If they believe it could be right for their situation, they may wish to consider filing a wrongful death claim against the driver deemed at fault in order to potentially gain compensation.
