Every human being has a certain amount of potential. It is unfortunate, however, when a person’s potential is cut short at a young age. Unfortunately, this is what recently happened to a 19-year-old young man who lost his life in a truck accident in Illinois.
The incident occurred when the young man swerved off the freeway after the driver of a semitrailer cut him off when changing lanes. The young man had been driving northbound at around 7:30 p.m. one evening in early December. The teenager, who was driving a pickup truck, was attempting to avoid crashing into the semitrailer when he swerved.
The driver of the pickup truck was ejected from his vehicle as the pickup truck rolled over multiple times in the ditch in the freeway median. The pickup truck eventually came to a halt in the southbound lanes. For some reason, the semitrailer driver did not stop to render help and continued to drive away. The driver of the semitrailer has yet to be identified.
If the authorities are able to identify and locate the driver of the semitrailer, that person could face criminal charges in Illinois as a result of the fatal truck accident that left the teenager dead. The family of the deceased may want to monitor any criminal proceedings since evidence presented during a criminal trial could be used in a wrongful death lawsuit. A successful outcome in a wrongful death case could result in monetary reimbursement to help cover the unexpected end-of-life expenses that the family incurred.
