Receiving compensation from an Illinois car accident

It is common for a driver to suffer damages due to the negligent actions of a drunk driver. As the victim of such an experience, it can feel very frustrating that you suffered so much because of the careless actions of another. In circumstances such as this when it is clear that another driver is at fault, the normal process is for you to make a claim through the at-fault driver's insurance.

Woman killed when car is hit by train

In Melrose Park, this past Friday, Dec. 15, a freight train struck a car and pushed it about four blocks. The car was traveling near North 19th Avenue and Main Street when the driver decided to circumvent the crossing gates by going around them. The vehicle ended up near South 15th and Railroad Avenue.

What to do after being hit by a car

As a pedestrian, getting hit by a car can be a very traumatic experience. Whether you were seriously injured or only suffered a few cuts and bruises, you are likely to be suffering mentally and emotionally, and you will be at a much higher risk for conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It is important, therefore, to make sure that you know your rights when it comes to recouping damages for the suffering that you have endured, the wages that you have lost and the medical expenses that you have had to pay.
