A police dog was killed by a drunk driver

A police dog in Illinois was been killed after a drunk driver hit the officer’s vehicle. According to the report, an officer had pulled over another vehicle due to a traffic violation. While the officer was talking to the driver, a drunk driver plowed into the police vehicle, crushing the car and severely injuring the dog inside.
The dog tragically died from its injuries
The officer sustained only minor injuries because he wasn’t in the vehicle at the time. Unfortunately, the police dog died from his injuries after being transported to the vet. The drunk driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after the accident. The name of the driver has not yet been released, but he’s been charged with multiple offenses, including one charge of driving under the influence.
Currently, police officers in the area are investigating the incident. The sheriff’s office posted about the incident on Facebook, inviting local citizens to pay tribute to the dog that was killed in the line of action. Tragically, drunk driving is one of the most common causes of car accidents in the United States with thousands of people dying each year after being struck by drunk drivers.
